Abstract/項目簡介

This joint research project aims to develop novel mathematical models and computational algorithms to address critical challenges in computational microscopy.By integrating advanced mathematical tools, such as sparse representation, low-rank tensor recovery, optimization, and physics-informed deep learning, with cutting-edge microscopy techniques (e.g., optical, X-ray, and electron microscopy), the project seeks to push the physical limits of traditional imaging.The developed methodologies will be applied to transdisciplinary fields, with a particular focus on the high-fidelity reconstruction and multi-dimensional characterization of battery materials and biological samples, ultimately accelerating scientific discovery and industrial applications.

Dr.Wang is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Southern University of Science and Technology.His research directions are mainly image processing, scientific computing, and interdisciplinary data science, and he has made some innovative contributions to theoretical and algorithmic aspects of sparsity.In recent years, he has published or accepted more than 30 papers as the first or corresponding author in prestigious journals and conferences.These include 1 paper in Cell subjournal, 5 papers in the SIAM series, 3 in the IEEE Q1 series, and 6 in CCF A-level journals/conferences.The applicant was selected for the Guangdong Young Pearl River Scholar, and his work has received multiple awards, including the Best Paper Award at a CVPR workshop, the Student Paper Award at the CSIAM Annual Meeting, and 2 SIAM travel awards.

Dr.Jizhou Li is currently a Vice-Chancellor Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.With his interdisciplinary background in mathematics and engineering, Dr.Li has consistently pursued advancements in the field of transdisciplinary imaging science, advancing both the methodologies and applications of various microscopy techniques, including optical, X-ray, and electron microscopy.His recent research focuses on developing computational microscopy techniques for battery material characterization, promoting the application of signal processing and computational imaging in materials science research and industrialization processes, thereby accelerating the design and development of high-performance battery materials.In recent years, he has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals and conferences, including Science, Nature, Cell, and their sister journals, PNAS, Advanced Materials, and IEEE Transactions.He has received multiple awards from IEEE and SIAM, including two Best Conference Paper Awards from the IEEE Signal Processing Society and the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, as well as a CVPR Best Paper Award Finalist from the IEEE Computer Society.He is a Senior Member of IEEE.

01、Job Requirements/崗位要求

For Postdoc:

1.Hold a PhD degree (or complete a PhD program in 2026) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or other related areas.

2.Proficiency in  Python/Matlab or other computer languages.

3.Good knowledge and strong research abilities in statistical/mathematical methodology, theory and implementation, preferable on high-dimensional data analysis, statistical models with complex structure or image processing.

4.Preference of having experience in preparing research papers or proposals in English.

5.Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.

6.This project is a collaboration between the research group projects of Southern University of Science and Technology and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.The postdoctoral position must comply with the postdoctoral position management regulations of Southern University of Science and Technology.Specific cooperation details are to be discussed in person.

03、Benefits and Rewards/待遇與福利

For Postdoc:

1.The postdoctoral employment period is two years, with a comprehensive annual salary starting from 330,000 RMB (before tax, including living subsidies for postdocs in station from Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City).Exceptionally outstanding candidates can apply for the President's Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship, with an annual salary of up to 500,000 RMB or more (including provincial and municipal subsidies).

2.Guangdong Province provides a total living subsidy of 300,000 RMB (before tax) per person for eligible postdocs in station.Shenzhen City provides a total living subsidy of 120,000 RMB (before tax) per person for eligible postdocs in station, with a funding period of 24 months.

3.During the station period, postdocs can rely on the school to apply for Shenzhen public rental housing.Postdocs who do not use Shenzhen public rental housing through the school can enjoy a pre-tax housing subsidy of 2,800 RMB/month for two years.

4.Possess an excellent working environment and opportunities for domestic and international cooperative exchange.Postdocs enjoy a total of 25,000 RMB in academic exchange funding during their two-year station period.

5.The research group can assist eligible postdocs in applying for postdoctoral talent projects.Upon approval, a maximum total subsidy of 1 million RMB can be enjoyed (cannot be enjoyed simultaneously with provincial and municipal subsidies).

6.For postdocs who stay in (or come to) Shenzhen for full-time work within 6 months after leaving the station and sign a labor (employment) contract of 3 years or more with enterprises or public institutions, the Shenzhen Municipal Government will provide a living subsidy of 360,000 RMB per person for coming to Shenzhen after leaving the station.

7.Outstanding postdoctoral personnel who obtain the Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program or the special funding from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation during the station period, and sign a labor (employment) contract of 3 years or more with this city within 6 months after leaving the station, the Shenzhen Municipal Government will provide 1:1 matching funds according to national funding standards, up to a maximum of 300,000 RMB.

8.For those who win the Gold, Silver, or Bronze awards in the National or Guangdong Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and sign a labor (employment) contract of 3 years or more with this city within 6 months after leaving the station, the Shenzhen Municipal Government will provide 1:1 matching innovation and entrepreneurship rewards according to the national and provincial reward amounts, up to a maximum of 200,000 RMB.

9.According to Article 39 of the "Regulations on the Administration of Postdoctoral Work in Shenzhen", the funding items in these regulations and the living subsidy for newly introduced postdoctoral talents in Shenzhen (100,000 RMB) shall not be enjoyed repeatedly.

博后方面：

1.博士后聘用期兩年，綜合年薪33萬元起（稅前，含廣東省及深圳市博士后在站生活補助），特別優(yōu)秀候選人可以申請校長卓越博士后，年薪可達50萬元以上（含省市補助）。

2.廣東省對符合條件的在站博士后發(fā)放每人總額30萬元（稅前）的生活補助，深圳市對符合條件的在站博士后發(fā)放每人總額12萬元（稅前）的生活補助，資助期為24個月。

3.在站期間，可依托學校申請深圳市公租房，未依托學校使用深圳市公租房的博士后，可享受兩年稅前2800元/月的住房補貼。

4.擁有優(yōu)良的工作環(huán)境和境內外合作交流機會，博士后在站期間享受兩年共計2.5萬學術交流經費資助。

5.課題組可協(xié)助符合條件的博士后申請博士后人才項目。獲批最高可享受總計100萬元補貼（與省市補助不同時享受）。

6.博士后出站后6個月內留（來）深全職工作且與企事業(yè)單位簽訂3年以上勞動（聘用）合同的，深圳市政府給予每人36萬元出站來深生活補助。

7.在站期間獲得博士后創(chuàng)新人才支持計劃或中國博士后科學基金特別資助的優(yōu)秀博士后人員，且出站后6個月內與本市簽訂3年以上勞動（聘用）合同的，深圳市政府再按照國家資助標準給予1：1經費資助，最高不超過30萬元。

8.獲得全國或廣東省博士后創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)業(yè)大賽金獎、銀獎、銅獎的，且出站后6個月內與本市簽訂3年以上勞動（聘用）合同的，深圳市政府再按照國家和省獎勵金額給予1：1創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)業(yè)獎勵，最高不超過20萬元。

9.根據《深圳市博士后工作管理規(guī)定》第三十九條規(guī)定，該規(guī)定資助項目與深圳市新引進博士人才生活補貼（10萬元）不重復享受。

For Research Assistant:

1.Monthly salary 5,000–10,000 RMB.For those with outstanding abilities, the salary is negotiable, and additional year-end performance bonuses are available;

2.Enjoy national statutory holidays and paid annual leave according to school regulations, "Five Insurances and One Housing Fund", holiday subsidies (available for major Chinese holidays, 1,000 RMB each time), monthly meal allowances, high-temperature subsidies, free medical examinations and other benefits;
